We are Kastle Loft, home of performance pigeons with a focus on 350-400 mile young bird racing. We are cultivating a tight family of pigeons to compete in headwinds primarily based on stock from Paul Macaloney and Mark Evans of Great Britain.
About
David Stephenson is a photojournalist by trade and an associate professor at the University of Kentucky where he teaches photography and multimedia. He races homing pigeons in central Kentucky for the fun of it and with his wife started a small business, Kastle Pigeon, selling natural health supplements. David’s first pigeons were bought from a Lexington flyer named Loftus Green in about 1980 when David was 10. The birds had to be given up when the teen years rolled around, but they came back into his life as adult.
David is the president of the Lexington Racing Pigeon Club which is in the Kentucky Combine. His pigeons are primarily Gaby Vandenabeele based on the lines cultivated from Paul Macaloney of Scotland and Mark Evans of England. David has found these lines to excel at distances from 100-500 miles and in tough conditions. They simply don’t give up. And they can race 350 miles as young birds. You can see more about his breeding stock here.

2024 Young Bird Results

We sent children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren from these two cocks to four OLR including the Sooner …
2024 Old Bird Results

Our pairings
Below you will find photos and descriptions of our Macaloney pairings, with a few select additions directly from Youri Deblanc. Many of our pairings are switched up every year to truly get a good test of each bird. I do not have every pair listed below as I am breeding from children of these pairs as …
